Carrie Jones

Healthcare Communications Strategist
Carrie Jones is a veteran communications specialist and healthcare strategist. Carrie’s background blends extensive expertise in public relations and issue advocacy with a unique understanding of how the public sectors interact with today’s capital markets.
Prior to founding Jones Public Affairs, Carrie worked five years at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide managing a broad array of pharmaceutical, government and non-profit clients. Over the course of her career, Carrie has developed numerous public affairs initiatives in the areas of advocacy, consumer education, social marketing, policy, product support and launch, image development and media relations.
During her career, Carrie has gained considerable experience in the areas of oncology and women’s health. As a senior counselor, she has actively been involved in global third-party development, coalition building, reimbursement communications, grassroots advocacy and product communications. Before joining Ogilvy PR, Carrie worked at Edelman in Washington, D.C.
Prior to her agency work, Carrie served as a government affairs associate for the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP). While there, Carrie managed senior care issues, including Medicare reimbursement, patient confidentiality, nursing facility quality and inspection, drug pricing and Medicare reform. Carrie was responsible for organizing grassroots efforts on legislative initiatives primarily through preparation of issue papers, action calls and other written communications.
Prior to joining ASCP, Carrie served as a legislative aide to U.S. Senator Byron Dorgan where she served as a liaison between the Senator and his constituents. She also worked closely with key legislators, including those on the Senate Finance and Appropriations committees.
A native of North Dakota, Carrie received her bachelor’s degree in mass communication and political science from Moorhead State University. She is a member of Women in Government Relations and the Public Relations Society of America.
